Cable in Shack
By sa6ham
I sacrificed the cat door in favor of a cable passthrough.
I have a 40-something meters long coax that goes from the base of my 12m flagpole (where the 40m dipole lives), though the lawn (2-3cm deep) over the gravel walk paths (6-7cm deep), around the front of the house and in through the not-longer-a-cat-door.
The cable is long enough to reach the far corner of the little shack, but it’s currently plugged in to my FT-891 and I’ve since made two QSOs just today.
The passthrough is rudimentary for now. The next iteration will have screw-in SO-239 connectors on both sides, and a proper ground connection for all the shields with a hefty ground stake. All that is easy enough to add to the two wooden boards I’ve already put up.
