SM6LR
Yesterday I had browsed for interesting nets and associations in my area and rediscovered SM6LR. It’s a ham radio club belonging to Lidköping, a town some 30km north of my QTH.
The club house is at JO68pk37, to the south of Lidköping, so it’s a bit closer to me.
On a whim I decided to visit them last night. To my delight I found a group of people who were very welcoming and friendly.

I made the website open source
I’ve decided to make the website open source. I’ll add a page on how to set up a similar website for yourself, but for now, here’s the GitHub repository.
I’m using Hugo to generate the website, and Cloudflare Pages to host it. Cloudflare automatically detects changes to the main branch of the github repository, and rebuilds the website. It’s pretty neat, and 100% free for my use case at the time of writing.

Now open for Electronics!
I had a pile of crap behind me in my tiny shack. I decided to make use of the space instead!
I made a video too, of course.

I’m back!
I recently got introduced to DMR and bought msyelf an AnyTone D878UVII Plus, got it programmed and had my first couple of international QSOs within a day. Wonderful stuff this! Perfect entry way for hams who don’t want to get stuck on the technical side, but actually get past that mic fright.

Kenwood TS-570D Panadapter
A Panadapter is know by many names. The most scientific and correct might be “radio spectrum scope”, but the most common in the ham sphere is “panadapter” or “pan-adaptor” in my short experience. Basically, it’s a wide panoramic view of a radio spectrum.
For a ham, it’s normally used in conjunction with a transceiver or a set of transceivers. It’s also common that the computer doing the spectrum visualization is connected to the transceiver via CAT or similar, so that a click in the spectrum view tunes the transceiver to the desired frequency.
